From Film to Food: How to make the 'Friends' floor cheesecake
If you’ve ever seen the hit sitcom Friends, you know there are quite a few food on-film moments. One of my personal favorites is in Season 7 Episode 11 “The One with All The Cheesecakes.” In this episode, Chandler receives a cheesecake at his doorstep and immediately has to taste it. He soon realizes the cheesecake was meant to be sent to his neighbor but he can’t stop devouring it because it’s so amazing. Rachel tries and they agree that it’s the best cheesecake they’ve ever had. Later, a replacement cheesecake is delivered and they put it outside the rightful owner’s door. Hours later, they see that the cheesecake is still there and decide to snatch it up. Chandler and Rachel soon get into an argument about splitting the new cheesecake, leading to the cheesecake falling on the floor. They can’t resist the taste and decide to eat the floor cheesecake.
I wanted to make a cheesecake so good that even my friends would consider eating it off the floor (hopefully not). This is a simple and quick recipe with few ingredients but great flavor. I would love to hear your thoughts, so please leave a comment down below if you try the recipe!
Servings: 8-10 slices
Cook Time: 60 minutes
What you’ll need:
Crust:
3 cups (about 16oz) of crushed graham crackers
1 stick of melted unsalted butter
1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup powdered sugar

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F
2. Start by preparing the crust. Place your graham crackers in a plastic bag and crush them until they are are no clumps. I crush it with my hands at first and then use a rollingvpin to finish it off.
3. Mix your crushed graham crackers, melted butter, brown sugar, and salt into a bowl until combined.
4. Press the crust mixture into the bottom of the pie pan. You should have a nice even layer, using about 3/4 of the mix. With the remaining 1/4 push the mixture up to sides of the pan to make a thin layer.
5. Next, prepare the filling. Place the cream cheese and granulated sugar into a bowl. Use a mixer on medium to low setting to blend them together. If there are cream cheese clumps or you have trouble blending, you may have to wait longer for the cream cheese to reach room temperature.
6. Add the eggs and powdered sugar to your fill mixture. Again use the medium setting on the electric mixer until you have a thick and creamy consistency.
7. Next, grab a spatula and pour the filling onto the crust. Spread evenly and place the pan on the middle oven rack and let cook for 30 minutes.
8. Remove cheesecake from the oven and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or preferably overnight. Cut cheesecake into slices and top with fruit, chocolate, or any other desired toppings
9. Enjoy!
